AN INSPIRING JOURNEY FROM COMEDY TO CREDIT CONSULTATION: MARVIN FRANCOIS
People often get fascinated by their interests and start seeking paths that are suitable for their career development. However, one might feel like switching those paths at any point of time in life. While most people do not support the idea of leaving a well-settled career, it is alright to shift if one gains interest in other areas, has done enough research for it, and is confident enough to enter a new stream. One such man is Marvin Francois, the owner of Francois Capital.
Marvin’s growth at the professional front
Marvin Francois is of Haitian descent and is born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He is 23 years old and has switched his career from stand-up comedy to teaching people how to build and leverage their credit. He manages one of the fastest growing online brands in the financial literacy space, YouTube, and social media. Francois has one of the fastest-growing credit repair companies in the domain as well.
Francois’s thoughts if Forbes approaches him for an interview
Marvin believes that he did not try to win the people over by portraying himself as this credit wizard that knew more than the next man. Instead, he focused on connecting with his audience by being transparent. Therefore he would want Forbes to show the world that he is a person who is for the people.
Traits that help Marvin stand out in the crowd
‘Showing them who I am, where I came from, the moves I’ve made, both good and bad, to get to where I am now, and people resonated with that.’ marks Francois. He says that once he got the people to connect with Marvin Francois-the person, it became easy to connect them to Marvin Francois- the credit specialist. This idea has allowed him to impact individuals all across the country.
The main ingredient to Marvin’s success
Marvin understood that everything he does is more significant than him. He states that when he was doing things for himself, it was easy to get tired, lose focus, discipline, and become inconsistent. However, when he started working for his community, no one could pay him to take a day off. ‘I understood that I had other people relying on me to get the job done, and that was all the fuel and motivation I needed to go harder and continue to demand more out of myself every single day.’ claims Francois.
Goals for the year 2021 elucidated by Marvin Francois
Through his credit repair company Francois Capital, Marvin wants to help 50 people get in a position to become first-time homebuyers or car owners. He also wants to create an online course for the youth to help teach them the basics about credit and things they can do to build their credit for the future.
